Our History

P&R was founded in 1972 by Malcolm Heazel. Originally called Globe Rentals it started life as a rental company operating from Malcolm's family home, renting black and white televisions.

Malcolm had been in the business prior to setting up Globe, working for Sidney Atkinson and then managing a shop for PHILIPS in Brentwood High Street. Jack Palmer and Len Ridgett then opened Palmer & Ridgett (an independent electrical outlet) next door and Malcolm left to set up Globe.

Globe Rentals expanded, gradually gaining more customers, mainly by word of mouth due to its personal and friendly service, still one of the company's main directives. By the 1980's Globe was carrying out Audio/Visual repairs and aerial installations as well as looking after the needs of local companies.

In February 1982 Palmer & Ridgett contacted Malcolm asking if he would be interested in looking after their customers and carrying out warranty repairs for them, and so P&R Service was formed.

Since then, our activities have broadened to embrace a range of services which now include the custom installation of home cinema, aerial, satellite & audio Multi room systems, CCTV, lighting control, electrical installations, structured wiring for telephone, computers and complete home control systems, including door entry and gate automation.
